If that would increase the prices of ectos/shards, then sure /signed. (I don't believe it will)

I don't like random spawns. neither do the solo build(s) I run. so it's no elite for me. ;-D

/edit

unless you're suggesting I farm with REAL people. or H/H. that just won't happen.

Ecto farming is a waste of time and always will be, the only thing decreasing drop rates would do is make the rich players with stacks of ectoes even richer while the average farmer will still be earning the same amount of gold/hour.

I believe that you are trying to protect what you have already. I been doing FOW and UW since the begining of the game and right now, FOW even in hard mode gives you CRAP Drops. I think I get better drops in NM.

Now asking to have no drops at all because you are afraid of the economy?

Man the economy has been in a stand still for a while now. The problem is not the shards, or the ectos but the Ambraces.

Those people who where able to get "away" with stacks of them. 100k + 15 ectos for one.

So please, stop sharing these ideas of "NO DROPS".

Ectos the same way, you get like 1 for every 5 runs. 2 if you are lucky. What rate drop do you prefer??? 1 every 10??

It is funny becausem you automatically assume that I am rich, well atm I have under 10k and I never had obsidiam armour.
The community automatically assumes that you are either on one side or the other, and those that think realistically are automatically assumed to be rich farmers, who want to stay. I never said that there is a economic problem atm, I am saying there will. Like I said I prefer ecto being 5k rather than 15k, but prices will drop from 5k and i doubt anyone can make money for 100g-1k ecto. You make more money soloing.
BTW you get around 3-5 ecto per run normal mode.
and BTW I have only had the game for 2 years. SO I started in 2006 and I only stated farming around 8 months ago.

I am just like the next guy I want to be rich, but I am also a realist.
Hell, I still haven't figured what loostscalling is ( I would appreciate it if someone explained) and I am meant to be a greedy rich player?

I never said ecto is bad NOW but it will be, trust me.

Where is your evidence for that. Prices of ectos have been stable for a year since the last major ANet game shift. Its only when ANet does something to fiddle that prices change, so why do you think that prices are dropping when they clearly are not?

The price is fixed and the drop rate is fine.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Take me with you, because I don't believe you I'll give you all ectos that drop back (and +1 from me) if we get 3

Lower the drop rates on ecto and shards? Why? Myself and other people who do fow/uw hardly get much whether we're in normal mode or hard mode. If anything Anet should lower the drop rates on white and blue merchant fodder items. /not signed

Ummm no, the drop rates from solo farming in normal mode are low enough, let's not kill another great way to farm.

You don't mind me calling you a stinking liar when you claim to have played for two years, do UW runs, haven't spent the ecto on obsi-armor, and not having more than 10K, do you?

Oh wait, I just realized: you've bought an elemental sword for 100K plus all your ecto, right?

In conclusion: You farm ectos, you've done so for quite a long time, you want them to become more expensive by stopping new farmers.

Exactly like I said, and exactly like so many long-time farmers before you.

If anything Ecto drop rates need to revert to complete pre nerf status.

Back when GW was released it was possible to acquire 100 ecto's a day solo farming. Some people early on became very very very rich and are still rich due those early 3-4 months after release. I know one individual who collected over 1500 ecto's in under two weeks. He still has that amount since with FOW armor for 13 characters. Early drop rates means it's possible for an average player to get FOW armor from simple every day farming. If anything it gave an incredible edge for those in on the builds and drop rates early on.

GW WAS about skill over grind. That was very true for 4 months after release.

100e a day? 1500e in 2 weeks?

Name the person. Very few people had that kind of cash back in the day.

I think that reducing drop rates would benefit most those people with multiple stacks of ectos. Do they really need financial help? They're a minority, probably <1% of the population.
